Silkies are very similar in looks to the Yorkshire who helped create them over 100 years ago . They are often mistaken for a larger version. Silky Terriers are very healthy . Very rarely do Silkies have health concerns until very old. They are an at risk breed. Which means they will become endangered and then extinct . There are less than 300 litters of Silky Terriers as compared to the Yorkshie with 68,000. The good part is although they look quite similae to the Yorkie they do not have the health concerns .
